With a first look at his new piece, Terminal, Zan explains how he prepares synchronized snippets of sound and video using key mapping and a Max for Live device – then adds panning and reverb to place sounds in the space we see on-screen. He also shares the sound design techniques he uses to transform his own cello recordings into otherworldly drones.
