변준형은 WYM(윔)으로 활동 중인 전자음악 아티스트이자 뮤직 프로듀서입니다. 솔로 아티스트로서 정규 음반과 싱글들을 발매하며 SXSW 등 여러 국제 음악 페스티벌에서 공연하였습니다. 프로듀서이자 사운드 디자이너로서 여러 타 아티스트들의 음반에 참여해온 그는 현재 사운드 아트 그룹 COR3A의 멤버로서 앰비언트 음악을 발표하고 있습니다.

그는 2006년 Ableton Live 5를 처음 사용하기 시작하였고 Ableton과 Push는 음악 프로덕션과 사운드 디자인 작업에서 빈티지 드럼머신, 샘플러, 모듈러 신스 등과 더불어 중추적인 역할을 하고 있습니다.
사운드 신세시스와 샘플링 등 그가 가진 음악 프로덕션 관련 전문가적 소양은 전자음악 뿐만 아닌 팝, 힙합 음악 등 여러 장르들을 커버합니다. 그는 미국 유학 후 귀국하여 여러 대학과 교육 기관에서 강의를 하였고 현재 성신여자대학교 현대실용음악학과 전임교수로서 재직하고 있습니다.

Jun Hyung Byun aka WYM is an electronic music artist and producer. As a solo artist, WYM, he has released original tracks and has performed at various festivals, including SXSW. He is featured in other artists’ projects as a producer and sound designer. He has also been concentrating on releasing prolific ambient music as a member of a South Korean sound art group, called COR3A.
He started using Ableton Live 5 in 2006. Ableton Live and Push have been a central part of his music production and sound design, incorporating various external musical equipment such as vintage drum machines, samplers and modular synths. His expertise in synthesis and sampling for music production covers not only electronic music but also various musical genres such as Pop, Hip Hop, etc.
After graduating Berklee College of Music in the US, he has taught many students at various
institutes and colleges back in his hometown, Seoul. He currently teaches as a full time
assistant professor at Sungshin Women’s University in Seoul, South Korea.
