Loop: A Summit for Music Makers
Ableton invites you to Loop – a summit for music makers, taking place in Berlin from October 30th to November 1st. The first participants and activities have just been announced and we’re excited to share the details with you.
The Loop daytime program will feature talks and moderated conversations with Matthew Herbert, Robert Henke, Holly Herndon, Young Guru, and others – exploring the artistry and creative strategies of modern music makers. A series of specially curated presentations and panel discussions with the likes of James Holden, Electric Indigo, Henrik Schwarz, Antye Greie-Ripatti, Jace Clayton, Dennis DeSantis, and Meara O’Reilly are geared to sharpen perspectives on how music, creativity and technology intersect. And the many hands-on workshops – on topics such as instrument hacking, getting into the creative mindset, interactive music-making technologies, and much more – are the ideal setting to learn new techniques, sharpen your creative tools, and get inspired.
Nighttime Program in Partnership with CTM
Ableton is teaming up with Berlin-based CTM - Festival for Adventurous Music and Art, who will be presenting a series of nighttime concerts and performances designed to reflect the themes and spirit of the daytime program. Loop attendees receive passes to all nighttime events.
Expanding Program
This is by no means everything we have planned for Loop – the program will continue to expand over the next few months. In the meantime, have a look at the growing list of Loop participants, see the activities scheduled so far, and check out the location.
Tickets
Starting immediately, you can register to get a ticket for Loop. Because of limited capacity, tickets will be allocated via a lottery. The ticket price is 250 EUR, with a reduced price ticket of 100 EUR available for music makers aged 18 - 25. Please fill out the registration form before August 7th to tell us a little bit about yourself. We will accept applications from anyone involved in making music. We’re not judging your work, but we do want to make sure you’re actively making it. To meet our vision of a healthy and diverse music technology community, we will group applications to ensure a balanced mix of ages and genders.
Please note: all talks and workshops at Loop will be conducted in English.
