Luis Gutiérrez, better known as Gutik, is a DJ, producer, audio engineer, sound designer, and teacher of music production and live performance. His lessons stand out for their focus on the latest in music and technology.

Luis began his musical career as an electronic music DJ in 2001, playing techno and experimental genres and sharing the stage with renowned and emerging DJs from the electronic music industry. In late 2005 he traveled to Mexico City to study music production and audio engineering, and acquired formidable knowledge in the world of turntables, controllers, synthesis and sound design.
He started using Live from version 5. Drawing on his knowledge in engineering he uses an Arduino to interact with Live, develops audio devices and MIDI, and uses an API in connection with Max for Live. Luis has performed at events such as the DJ World Music Conference in Mexico and has been invited to give a masterclass at the Ableton User Group Mexico. He has performed at events such as the Musicalion Panama, giving Live masterclasses.
Previously teaching software classes at the Garage Music Panama Academy, he currently teaches Live, Max for Live and Push for music production and live performance from his Patchlabz studio in Panama City. He provides virtual, personalized group classes and coordinates workshops, masterclasses and conferences in universities, schools and places such as bars in an educational way. He is the organizer of the Panama Ableton User Group. He also records, mixes and masters his own and others’ music.
As a new facet to his work, Luis is implementing sound design for video games, with which he seeks to inspire the development of music production and the use of Live as a versatile and futuristic tool.
