Yesterday and Today - Mo'Wax Artists in Discussion with CDR

Over a 10-year run starting in 1992, James Lavelle’s Mo'Wax label was at the vanguard of jungle, hip-hop, trip-hop, and R&B-tinged music in the UK. Boasting acts like DJ Shadow, DJ Krush, Money Mark, and Attica Blues, the label continues to influence a new generation of musicians - while its original roster continues to create.

At this year’s Meltdown event at London’s Southbank Centre, Ableton teamed up with CDR to present two weekends of workshops and panel discussions. CDR’s Tony Nwachukwu sat down with some of Mo’Wax’s lineup to discuss production techniques then and now, and the legacy of the label. Here he is speaking with visionary turntablist and sample collage-maker, DJ Shadow:
