The Forge features all the hallmarks of Ben Lukas Boysen’s idiosyncratic production style. Among the 2,3 GB of samples and over 100 audio and MIDI clips, there are heavily treated percussion sounds, rhythmic noise loops, punchy kicks and evocative pads from some unlikely sources. 

The Clips folders named Coil Loops and Coil Pads contain recordings made with a coil pick-up – a device which registers fluctuations in the electromagnetic field. By placing one of these on electrical appliances in his home, Hecq was able to capture a bizarre array of tones and textures constantly being produced by the machines that surround us.

The 25 Instrument Racks created for this Pack utilize the Operator, Collision, Analog, Tension and Electric synths to great effect, providing a unique palette of leads, pads and bass sounds that are just waiting to be tweaked. The 5 Drum Racks contain a selection of the kind of precision percussion sounds Hecq is known for.

The 4 included Demo Songs serve as demonstrations of how all of the components of The Forge play together and as jumping off points for your own musical imagination.
