Digging deeper
Creme de la Crate is a collaboration between DJ Nu-Mark and Ableton which brings the grit and groove of classic funk and soul records to your fingertips without the rare wax and sticky licensing issues. When he’s not producing for Jurassic 5, Nu-Mark is busy in the studio recording original samples that capture the warmth of old-school breaks, but hit as hard as any contemporary production. This Pack sifts through his acclaimed Crate Expectations sample library series to bring you drum loops, melodic one-shots and more – all loaded with character.
Break it down
The drum breaks form the core of Creme de la Crate, performed live in the studio and lovingly captured through Nu-Mark’s array of vintage ‘60s preamps, compressors and microphones. These classic acoustic sounds sit alongside additional electronic samples and kits exclusive to this Pack, all presented as Drum Racks, MIDI clips, one-shots and sliced breaks. There are also complete drum loops and fills ready to go straight away – whether you’re looking to create a low-slung hip hop groove, bring some additional energy to an indie rock song or ramp the breaks up for a jungle excursion, there’s endless creative scope locked away in this Pack.
Melodic magic
There’s also plenty of melodic content thrown into the mix. From Nu-Mark’s own inspiring ‘Song Starters’ to guitar chords, bass guitar lines, tonewheel organ licks and electric piano recorded by Dan Ubick, this Pack has all the building blocks you need to get a full production going. The difference here is the texture and attitude of the sounds – or as Nu-Mark calls it, “a proper knock”.
