With vast experience as a band, tour, studio and orchestra musician, Nils has performed 1500 concerts and DJ sets, and hosted hundreds events for the Ableton User Group Hamburg, which he initiated. Training sessions for theaters and recording studios is just as natural to him as working with orchestras or international live and recording artists from the field of electronic music. He also develops digital teaching materials for music teachers at (public) schools.

As an author, he has published more than 150 hours of video tutorials on Live, Push and Launchpad with the DVD-Lernkurs publishing house, which also published his book, Von der Saat bis zur Ernte - Songproduktionen mit Ableton Live. Workshops and masterclasses have been held in Hamburg, Havana, San Diego, Vienna and Paris. He’s also been offering online one-on-one lessons and webinars since 2011.

This diversity and passion for all aspects of music, coupled with 20 years of teaching experience, add up to a qualification that allows Nils to optimally help his clients achieve their individual goals. It’s not just his comprehensive understanding of hardware and software, instruments, workflow, creativity and music theory that make him a good teacher. Equally important are his quick grasp of students’ musical intentions and individual problems, clear and understandable explanations, patience and empathy, as well as creating a relaxed teaching atmosphere that makes technical and artistic development possible. 

In the lessons, student’s creative ideas play the most important role, using Live’s extensive functions individually and practically to achieve personal goals.

Nils has been using Live since 2004. He quit his previous job as a guitar teacher a long time ago, and has since dedicated himself 100 percent with love and passion to teaching and producing with Live.
