Martin is a musician and educator. He was already teaching an electronic music project when Live 1 was released, and he introduced it to the class the following week! Since then, Martin has taught Live and electronic music in schools, colleges, community centres, art galleries, young offenders institutes and prisons, to students ranging from young school children to DJs and well known artists. Martin’s specialities are helping beginners get started – nothing is more important than helping somebody take their first musical steps – and helping performers prepare their live setups. Martin still performs live regularly, and this experience feeds back into his teaching.
He designed the Kenton Killamix USB MIDI controller and has had four books about music technology published. He has also had over half a million words published in magazines including Computer Music, Future Music and Music Tech, in the form of tutorials, reviews and interviews. Online private sessions are available – please contact Martin to discuss your needs.
