Jason Goodyear is an audio engineer, producer and field recordist with over 30 years of experience in music, including composing and creating sound for live shows, film, dance, and internet and multimedia events and installations. He enjoys working in a broad range of genres from ambient experimental styles to EBM-influenced synthwave and music based on acoustic instrumentation. The biggest single influence on his music is his passion for field recording.

Jason currently teaches at Santa Fe Community College where he created and developed all of the audio courses in the Film and Digital Media Arts department. For a number of years he also taught courses and recording studio labs in the Contemporary Music Program at the Santa Fe University of Art and Design. His courses cover a variety of subjects including Ableton Live, Reason, Protools, audio production, mixing and mastering, audio field recording and sound for film, as well as private lessons in music technology and composition. 

An Ableton Live user since 2005 and Push user since 2013, he has taught an accredited college course in Ableton Live since 2009 and worked consistently as a private teacher and consultant in music technology environments. Aside from his college coursework, most of his teaching is done on a one-on-one basis with the educational focus driven by the student’s needs. He is also available for group events and can do remote lessons online.
