Jamie began playing drums and percussion in school in 2000. He studied jazz, drum corps and orchestral drumming throughout middle and high school, before attaining his BA in Audio Engineering and Music Technology at The Evergreen State College. After immersing himself in the Seattle music scene for 6 years, he then obtained a Master’s in Music from Berklee College of Music in 2020. Currently, Jamie specializes in creating and teaching electronic infused hip hop, jazz, R&B, pop and soul.
Jamie has been using Ableton Live since 2008 to compose, arrange and produce his music. He taught himself to fluently play Ableton’s Push in chromatic mode and has used it as his primary compositional tool since its initial release in 2013. Currently, he uses Push 2 and has begun teaching people how to play Push as a chromatic electronic instrument.
Jamie offers one-on-one lessons, as well as small group lessons. His teaching style caters to the individual needs of his students.
