Andrés Power began his career in 1986, working as a DJ in Colombia and exploring music and rhythms from hip-hop through to various electronic genres. His passion for both music and technology led him to experiment with Ableton Live, from the first version back in 2001, and he subsequently included it in his live performances, as well as studio recording sessions. Andrés is an expert user of Live and the software has become his DAW of choice.
In 2006 Andrés’s vocation for teaching led him to create Deejay Academy, an academy for DJs and music producers in Bogotá, where he can share his extensive knowledge on production and DJing, and contribute to the Colombian electronic music scene.
Andrés’s teaching method focuses on learning by doing, allowing his students to develop and discover the different methods and possibilities of Live. His program actively motivates and encourages students to work creatively, be it producing in the studio, or performing on stage.
