Rodi Kirk on Push
Our latest Push video takes us back to the last days of summer in Berlin to watch a performance by New Zealand producer Rodi Kirk. Using Push, a Space Echo and a Juno 106, Rodi puts together “Underwater”, a breezy dubbed-out groover with a slinky guitar line that is as laid back as the atmosphere at the outdoor patio where he’s playing.
In the accompanying walk-through video, Rodi explains how he adapted a full band recording for a solo performance with Push, and how to inject vintage hardware flavor into a track with external effects and instruments. As an added bonus, Rodi gives a crash-course in how to construct a natural-sounding, playable lead guitar sound for Push.
