Loop Create: Explore Collective Creation
Loop Create is back on October 29, and this year’s edition is all about making music together.
Get involved in a day packed with free, online activities for music makers of all experience levels, where we’ll take a look at the ways people can pool their talents and ideas in collaborations, cooperate with each other to do things they couldn’t do on their own, and add their voices to collective forms of creation.
Hildur Guðnadóttir* and Sam Slater will kick off the day with a keynote interview about successful creative partnerships, and sound artist Maya Shenfeld will lead a workshop to show you how using written instructions can help to create an open-minded and democratic mood in the studio. Then, you can get to know habitual co-creator Gafacci, who will answer your questions in an intimate audience discussion moderated by his good friend and collaborator Juba.
Producers Aquarian and Mustelide will take on a musical challenge to help each other move forward with loops they’re stuck on, and you’ll be invited to work on the same material and share your results. Between sessions, you can meet new friends and potential project partners in the Loop Cafe, a virtual hangout space for chatting and sharing ideas.
Loop Create streams from loop.ableton.com at 4pm (Berlin/UTC+2) on October 29, and runs for a total of 6.5 hours. More details, including the full schedule, will be released on October 11. It’s free to take part – all you have to do is sign up, and you’ll get all the information you need to get involved on the day.
