A Personal Take: Lawrence English on Listening
This year at the Loop summit, we introduced a new format that we dubbed 5 Takes – in the space of one hour five people give short presentations, each offering a different take on music making. Like a good DJ set or an old-time variety show, these talks gather sounds and stories from different musical worlds and throw them together on stage. First up in our series of video recaps of these presentations, Australian composer and sound artist Lawrence English shares his personal perspective on the creativity inherent in the act of listening itself.
