그는 아날로그 모듈라 신디사이저와 컴퓨터 프로그래밍을 통해 시청각 미디어에서 극단적인 소음과 추상적이고 기이한 메세지를 표현합니다.특히 19세기와 20세기의 사회적 배경을 통해 다양한 정치적,사회적 메세지를 비틀거나 조롱합니다.그가 표현하는 시청각 미디어에는 청중에게 있어서 다시는 잊어서는 안될 메세지가 포함되어있습니다.

현재는 한국과 일본, 두나라를 오가며 활발한 연구와 작품활동을 하고있습니다. 일본의 큐슈대학 공과대학 Darly Jamieson Lab.에서 소음,전자음향,공학과 현대미학을 연구하고있으며 한국의 부산예술대학교 미디어아트 테크놀로지과에서 전임교수로 재직하고 있습니다. 최근 “이승규 // 인터미디어 프로젝트 YI SEUNGGYU // Intermedia Project” 라는 어쿠스틱과 소음,전자음향,시각디자인이 융합된 새로운 즉흥미디어표현을 목표로 연구를 지속하고 있습니다.

YI Studied Design (Art/engineering) and Media Art at Seoul Institute Of The Arts In Korea and Kyushu University In Japan and got certified in Sound Design and Synthesis Course at London Garnish Music Production School in London, UK.

He also teaches Computer-based Algorithm Composition, Media Art Programming and Electronic Music as an educator and Ableton Certified Trainer.

He has been invited to Korea, Japan, Germany, France, Denmark, Taiwan and New York City and has appeared in various media art festivals, including GIGANOISE, Tokyo Festival Of Modular, Kansai Festival Of Modular, Modula Seoul, Wisa Festival, Dotolim and Public Visuals.

He expresses extreme noise, abstract and bizarre messages in audiovisual media through Eurorack modular synthesizers and computer programming. In particular, it twists or ridicules various political and social messages through the background of the 19th and 20th centuries. The audio/visual media he produces includes a message to the audience that should never be forgotten..

In 2024, he is currently studying noise, engineering, and contemporary aesthetics as a Ph.D. researcher at the Darly Jamieson Lab, School Of Design at Kyushu university in Japan. He is continuing his research with the aim of expressing new improvised media that combines accoustic, electronic sound, noise and visual design, called the "YI SEUNGGYU // Intermedia Project".
