Stefano Ferrari is a producer, sound designer and guitarist. He’s been studying music since 1987, obtaining degrees in Classical Guitar and Contemporary Composition & New Technologies at the conservatory in Italy.

After many years of practice as a composer, live performer and teacher, Stefano became an Ableton Certified Trainer, a crucial achievement of his career. His teaching approach focuses on the relationship between music and new technologies, in particular how technological developments influence the creative process and serve as a tool for new artistic and aesthetic languages.
In 2010, Stefano created Menion, a solo electronic project which melds together glitch, ambient and post-rock influences. The sound concept is based on a processing of the guitar sound to arrive at a transformation of the identity of the sound source. He has released three albums and two EPs on various labels.
Since 2011, Stefano has lived in Berlin, working as teacher, composer and sound designer for animation, documentaries and fiction.
He offers courses for experienced Live users and novices alike, split into three categories: composition and production skills using Live, sound design, and Live performance set-up.
His courses are particularly suitable for instrumentalists who want to integrate electronics with their instrument. His workshop philosophy is "learning while having fun."

Compositore e chitarrista, Stefano Ferrari ha iniziato a studiare musica nel 1987 ed ha conseguito il diploma in chitarra classica, Composizione Sperimentale e Musica e Nuove Tecnologie presso il Conservatorio di Sassari e Cagliari. Nel 2010 è diventato un Ableton Certified Trainer, elemento essenziale per il proprio processo musicale - creativo e professionale.
La sua ricerca nell'uso dell'elettronica abbraccia diversi aspetti della propria attività di compositore, performer e insegnante, utilizzando le nuove tecnologie come strumenti di sviluppo di nuovi linguaggi artistici ed estetici con particolare riguardo all‘improvvisazione.
Dalla necessità di far convergere tutti i volti della sua personalità musicale, in particolare quello di strumentista con quello di compositore, nasce il progetto solista Menion: “musica elettronica giocosa e visionaria costituita da elementi Glitch, Ambient e Post-Rock.
Ha pubblicato tre EP, il primo "Out of sound / Out of silent" per l'etichetta "La bèl”, il secondo "Morbida oscurità " per l'etichetta “Mime” e il terzo "Menion" sempre su "La bèl”.
Dal 2011 vive e lavora a Berlino, estendendo la sua ricerca in composizione e sound design per animazioni, cor tometraggi e documentari.
I corsi che tiene si sviluppano in tre aree principali: composizione e produzione con Ableton Live, sound design e performance live set-up.
La sua filosofia di laboratorio è "imparare divertendosi."
