David has played music most of his life and has come in contact with almost every genre imaginable through playing a wide range of instruments. As an instrumentalist, his fortes are piano and keyboards.
In 2002 David graduated from music college, where he studied sound engineering, music theory, piano and pedagogy, and got a degree as a music teacher. He began teaching during his studies, and since graduating, has taught music full-time. David has been teaching music in many educational contexts and students of all ages, but is now teaching music production at Ingesund School of Music, Karlstad University, where he also is the program manager of the music production program. He is also engaged in doctoral studies and is working on research within the realm of producing generative music in the context of popular culture.
Beside his main occupation David enjoys doing workshops, seminars and lectures for other music teachers about electronic music production, pedagogy and creative use of technology.
David has released a number of electronica albums, influenced by a wide range of genres, and releases deep house under the name D’stream. He performs live improvisations, often in collaboration with non-musical artists, like painters and poets.
David enjoys thinking laterally when it comes to making music, sound design, live setups and art performances, and has experience with electronics, programming and Arduino.
He used Live for the first time in 2007 and turned it into his weapon of choice on stage, in the studio and in the classroom.
David offers workshops, group classes and one-to-one tuition in Ableton Live, Push and Max for Live.
