Playing multiple instruments through his childhood and teenage years led Chris to pursue a formal music education. He discovered underground electronic dance music in the 1990s, just as the opportunity to refocus his studies on music synthesis and sound design presented itself. Chris spent 10 years in the industry as a product specialist, clinician, and sound programmer. Then, the idea of electronic music education got into his head and changed everything.
Chris worked as an instructor and the Director of Curriculum for Dubspot where he designed and developed several courses, including the Ableton Live course, for both the physical and the online school.
Nowadays, in addition to working with private students and artists, producing original electronic music, and working on movie soundtracks, Chris builds custom Ableton Live/Max4Live playback systems for Broadway shows.
Having been a Live user since version 1, Chris has witnessed first hand how the way we produce and perform music has been revolutionized by Ableton.
