Time & Timbre: The polymetric rhythm engine gets an overhaul
Berlin-based duo Skinnerbox have given their widely admired rhythm engine and drum synthesis instrument a major update. Free for existing users or available to buy now, they’ve crammed the Pack full of new devices that integrate the engine’s unique groove, swing and timing throughout your production process. And on top of this, they’ve brought the Pack bang-up-to-date with the new Push.
The collection of devices will have you brimming with new rhythmic possibilities. Control any MIDI parameter with groove-induced modulations, spark a ton of ideas for leads and basslines, or create delays with off-the-grid echoes that fit perfectly alongside your offbeat drums.
Modular synth heads are in for a treat too: the Time LFO.CV device lets you output a control voltage through your audio interface to control your external gear. Plus you can send groovy clock signals to hardware sequencers with clock input. Skinnerbox are also offering a free pair of Max for Live CV devices that let you use Live as an extension of your modular synth setup – more details on the Time & Timbre Packs page.
Last but certainly not least for owners of the new Push: Time & Timbre can take over Push’s sequencer with a completely customized layout. The setup reimagines how to use the unit to build beats and trigger patterns.
The updated Pack is out now – head to the Packs page for further details.
