Hypermorph: Mutating and Evolving Sounds at Your Control
When it comes to sound design, it’s often the way one or more sources are mixed together that gives an exciting and distinct character. But doing this manually can be tiresome and risks taking you out of your flow.
Sonic Faction’s new synth instrument Hypermorph is a Max for Live tool that offers a different approach to designing synth sounds – one that’s playable and hands-on. A flexible morph matrix and a Push-ready modulation sequencer give you ways to blend or rapidly switch between four independent sound sources. The results can be anything from evolving ambient drones to twisted and mutating synth sounds.
The device’s sound sources, from an array of modern analog and digital synthesizers, are made up of beefy oscillators, wavetables, FM textures and custom one-shots. Combine this tonal flexibility with its built-in Morph Sequencer: you’ll be blending elements together in unusual ways, and heading into unfamiliar sonic territory.
