Dominic Au (a.k.a. Bluedee) is the founder of Polypumpkins duo, a music producer, DJ and designer of electronic instruments. Being a synthesizer maniac and musical product designer, he knows how to inspire aspiring talents to achieve their musical goals with his own unique experience and knowledge in music technology and production.

Dominic started producing music with Ableton Live back in 2009 and became a DJ soon after. He began to score for project films and advertisements in 2013. Afterwards, he formed the electronic music duo Polypumpkins with original works of Synthwave, Chillout, Techno, DnB, Funk, etc., which diffuse highly cinematic and electronic flavours.
After finishing his tertiary education in Creative Arts, he became a producer in a video production house which shaped his instincts in video-music projects. In 2013, he entered the realm of Music Technology by becoming a Product Specialist for Focusrite / Novation. Since then, well-known music brands started to collaborate with him in doing demonstrations, lectures, courses, etc. to inspire potential creators in various forms. He actively performs at NAMM and Music China, the world's largest music exhibitions.
Dominic is now the Senior Product & Design Manager of ASM (Ashun Sound Machines). As a co-designer of the internationally renowned Hydrasynth synthesizer, he has invented several electronic musical instrument patents (Hydrasynth is the first high-end mass-produced synthesizer in China with self-developed core chips which won multiple international music-tech awards). In addition, he often makes live performances and demonstration videos of the synthesizers he designed, which are widely praised.
Dominic is passionate about doing live performances and productions of original pieces, from hybrid to pure hardware, pure software, or even pure modular ones, all over Greater China to North America. Ableton Live and Push are always the core of his diverse setups. He is obsessed with studying the inheritance and innovation of vintage and modern electronic instruments and is full of enthusiasm for sharing music technology. He has rich production and performance experience, coupled with his expertise in sound design and music technology, allowing students to learn comprehensive and practical knowledge. His background has shaped his musical and teaching style. He focuses on customizing materials according to students' different levels and needs, encouraging students to achieve their learning goals while creating. He teaches three languages ââand is now active in Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Shanghai.
