Brian Markman is an engineer, producer and club DJ. Starting over 12 years ago playing records at acid jazz clubs and then at raves playing drum and bass, technology pushed his musical interests forward. 2 years ago, Markman came to SAE as an instructor in the Electronic Music Production program teaching Ableton Live.

As time wore on, it became apparent that Live was growing in popularity and was destined to become a part of the Audio Technology engineering program as well.
Over the last few years as the line between production, mixing and performance has been blurred, skill sets have combined into one big pool of resources. Teaching both engineering and production students the most effective ways to implement software to accomplish their goals and gain employment has been a primary focus for him. He teaches all aspects of Ableton Live with a focus on live performance including DJing as well as integration with VJ software and Max for Live. Markman currently teaches classes exclusively at SAE with occasional workshops when available.
