Drum Sampler: Exploring Live 12.1’s New Device with Ned Rush
Live 12.1 sees the introduction of Drum Sampler, a device designed for – but by no means limited to – playing and manipulating percussive sounds.
Watch as Ned Rush explores everything Drum Sampler is capable of, by putting together a hyperactive, glitched-out track from just one short vocal sample. See how he builds a kick by introducing a booming sub layer, adds noise and filter resonance for a punchy snare and lively hi-hats, and uses Drum Sampler’s powerful modulation section to craft a bubbling, constantly evolving melodic line. Then follow him into the deep end to combine MPE automation with Live’s MIDI tools.
Drum Sampler is coming in all editions of Live 12.1 – now in public beta. If you’re already using Live 12, join the beta program to try it now, along with Auto Shift, the updated Limiter and Saturator, and all the other new features.
