Mike Goodwin (Toronto, ON)

Michael has been teaching Ableton Live for more than five years. His specialty is teaching Live in a way that lets students reach their creative goals, whether they are professional musicians, DJs or producers, or simply considering a new way of working. With more than ten years playing in live bands as a drummer, another ten years producing and performing electronic music and five years of teaching, he knows how to explain what Live can do and how you can get it done. Michael works with students one-on-one as well as in small groups. He offers individual sessions covering basic creative concepts as well as more specific and complex concepts. He also offers customized long-term learning plans in areas such as:

  • understanding Live concepts
  • working with MIDI and audio clips
  • working with instruments and FX
  • recording audio and MIDI
  • song arrangement and production
  • building customized live-performance setups
  • basic and complex MIDI mapping
  • basic and complex DJ techniques
